Something big happened because all the fish at the same time is not normal, did you check the other parameters?

Did you take it out of the water to check? If the temperature got too high and the heater was damaged, it could be that the tank is slowly decreasing its temperature.

It appeared to be fine buddy. I added a second one just in case.

I woke up this morning to all of my beautiful fish being dead. I checked salinity and temp. All fine there. The water looks like it might be a bit hazy. Not 100% sure. I did a test strip real quick just out of reaction and have detectable nitrites!?!

I’m so sorry John, what a gut punch! Let’s figure out the cause, fix it and brush yourself off.

Aeration and carbon are your friend right now. I'd work on a water change too.

An excessive increase of Alk can affect Ph and cause respiratory stress and gill damage in fish, need to be a big spike but it can cause a quick death

I turned off my wavemaker last night for the berghia to work. My return pump stayed on and there was a long period of time before I even had the wavemaker. Now im wondering if this was a good idea.

Aeration and carbon are your friend right now. I'd work on a water change too.

Copy that. I have my aerator rocking and doubled my carbon.

Do you guys feel there is any indication that my corals are to suffer this same fate? I know it's a bit of a toss up on what caused it. Who can say really? Im just wondering based on everyone's past experiences.
