Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Hmmm.... I want. Wonder if it'd get along with my leapord and exquisite wrasse?
Mine does fine with my sixline wrasse that I added last after seeing that Remi had a yellow and sixline wrasse in his tank.

He's so docile man. He spends a lot of time in the sandbed. When he comes out, he swims a small area mid low in the tank and seems to have is own agenda. Im getting a naoko and mccoskers wrasse Tuesday. I can let you know how he does with them.
Mine is last to wake and the first to bed every day.

Im thinking about buying a couple and just giving them to my lfs. Theyre awesome guys with a huge following down here. Who knows maybe it'll catch on!
I did the same 4-5 months ago.

Good morning, to the whole #Smorgasbord crew!

Missed 10 pages yesterday and am not going to go back and read them all. I will, however, take a blind shot on what some of the posts were about: weather, food, music, beer, Black Friday and, of course, fish and corals. I do hope all of you were able to score whatever Black Friday deals you wanted.
Good morning Chris, you are spot on!

While I am a fan of Steve Martin, for me, there is, and never will be, a replacement for Peter Sellers. Henry Mancini is also irreplaceable.
Same!!!! I remember my dad taking my brother and I to those movies in the 70’s. I didn’t see the new one for that reason. I think the also did a remake of Get Smart and I wasn’t interested.

Good morning Nero’s! I got up early, today is the biggest game of the season that every Ohio State and Xichigan fan waits all year for. Throw out the season record, today’s game is always a clean slate. After about 4:00 pm you don’t hear from me for a few weeks you’ll know the outcome. Don’t worry, physically I will be fine.

Good morning Rumpelstiltskin, sounds like you r house is a Christmas wonderland. I snagged a new laptop Ive been eyeing for $100 off.

i just checked my salinity its at 1.022 is this ok . i can go get Instant Ocean tomorrow and do a water change to raise it i just add my first corals and had to take some water out to do the dip . i just added some rodi water to bring the levels of the tank back up .
hmm... this make me have questions..I want to help you be successful and share what some showed me back on the east coast. Seems that your making dip and then putting the corals in the dip made from your tank water..But I am not sure so I will share this. If you are you could be shocking the corals from a quick water parameter change.
To help prevent total shock to corals, keep the corals in the water they came with. this 3 /4 or 5 container method your choice. I like to use plastic tubberware stuff and put it on our white counter so I can see the critters die. You could also use a white container. Key here is to be able to see and use a turkey baster. If you keep the frag on the plug it came with important to use the baster to get the dip in and under any crevice. Perfect spot for critters to hide. (me I like to take them off the plug if coral growth is not on the plug or get frags not vet been glued yet.
1, Keep corals in as much of original water they can with to start (container 1)
2.Make dip using some of the water the corals came with to help prevent any stress/shock to the corals. Plus your gonna throw away this water so better to throw away this water then your tank water. (container 2) and then move coral (corals) into container 2. Now if all the corals fit into container 2 then you can pour more original water from container 1 into container 2 to make sure they are covered. Let them sit per directions of dip. I use Red Sea Dip X. One bottle makes a lot of dip and for me, I get great results.
Here is where your choice comes with additional containers.
3. (Container 3)Using original water (not from dip container) move corals to this and slowly add your tank water over time, say 30 minutes or more. Then move to tank.
OR additional containers steps.
4. Once this is done I like to use tank water with Brightwell Restore to help the corals survive.(container 4)
5. container with tank water for a rinse prior to going into tank.
Hope this helps...
