Good morning everyone, and happy 1st Day of December! Been a crazy past couple of days with Thanksgiving weekend, but I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and got some good deals on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I was able to snag a nice new keyboard off my wife's cousin this weekend for free since he didn't want it anymore. So I guess I got a Black Friday deal, haha.

As we head into December, a couple of things. One, Toy for Kids 2025 is going on Right NOW! If you have never been a part of this, I strongly encourage you to take part in this. I have been helping with this for the past couple of years, and every dollar that is donated makes a world of difference in children's lives this Christmas Season.

Second, let's not get caught up in the commercial takeover of Christmas. What I mean by that is Christmas has become more about charging patrons for overpriced gifts and less about the true meaning of Christmas. Friends, family, and most importantly, the birth of Jesus. So take time to not get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everything, and remember to focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

Third, did you know depression is at an all-time high from now until New Year's? Don't let depression steal your joy this holiday season. Be joyful instead! Spend it with friends and family. Make a difference in someone's life this Christmas season.

Fourth, I'm going to try to send some more wintery/Christmas-themed music for this money. Will I succeed every day? No, but I can try, haha. So let's start off with one of my all-time favorite Christmas Metal songs

Also, how and who tracks the dollars donated and is the tracking available to view after the gifts are given out?

I ask for two reasons; 1.) There are way too many "charitable" orgnaiztions that pocket way too much of the money collected for "administrative fees" or some other form of BS. Therefore, I am pretty selective when making any form of a cash donation. 2.) If I am going to promote this, I want to be sure that the money collected can be tracked and verified that it used for the kids.

@revhtree makes sure every dollar that is received is put back into organizations. We are very meticulous about making sure the money that is donated is going where it needs to go. If I'm not mistaken, it is all sent into one account, and then he divides the money up to make sure it goes to each place accordingly. I can assure you that 0% of the money is pocketed by organizations, and we make sure it is spent correctly. Which, is sad that a lot of people like to steal donations or put up a facade of charitable giving.

Me, and @AlyciaMarie see where the money is going too since we have helped with this event for a while now (she has done the toy drive much longer than I have, haha).

Hope this clears up some of the confusion but David is more than happy to explain it in greater detail than what I can!

Good morning Smorgasbord! Hope you all have a great Monday! I got a doe so far this morning. They seem to be moving good this morning. We seen a big buck crossing the road on our way to hunt this morning and at my camera this morning there was a little buck, a doe and two little bitty fawns this morning. We were going to stay until Wednesday evening but this afternoon a heavy rain is going to move in for the next two days so we are going to head home after this morning's hunt.
Good morning Peanut, glad your hunt is going well!

Good morning, Smorgers!

I, unexpectedly, got nothing done around the house yesterday. Well, I did buy myself a new toy and did some other online looking at more stuff I do not need. Other than that, I allowed Katherine to talk me into laying about all day and watching Christmassy movies. All in all, an excellent day but I did feel a bit guilty last night before bed.

Anyways, it's "Cyber Monday" and there's more shopping for more unneeded stuff. May we all find the supposed great bargains today!

(In other news; I am not sure how but, for the past two days, I missed the first notification of updates here, in the Smorgasbord, and that causes a subsequent missing of everything else. Mostly because it drops the "watched thread" far down the list.)
Good morning Chris, congratulations on laying around all day!

Today is the first day of Advent (a penitential period before Christmas). I try to sacrifice screen time as much as possible, so I'll only be posting on the weekends until Christmas. I won't read every post, but I'll make sure to check in.
Thanks for letting us know so we wont think Kevin ran you off!

The latin root word "Paenitentia" is the same word that we get "penitentiary" from. It means repentance. Im sure you knows this but others may not.

Id trust R2r, but that's exactly why I choose to give directly, if I do. Of course I have my own kids that want presents too in this economy, so that's usually where my Christmas savings go.

David (Rev) is a stand up guy that I stand behind wholeheartedly. One of the few "big business" people that I have trust and faith in.

Good morning all !! 😎
Good morning CoralB! Have we been introduced yet chica? If so, I have forgotten your name for which I apologize.
