Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I might have misread the original. if you are tryin to raise the salinity, pending how much, I would just turn off the ATO and let the water evaporate till it reaches the higher SG then add the new saltwater mix of the desired SG to the ATO add water mark then turn the ATO back on. but that's me.
It's me that misunderstood

These will probably be what determines if I switch to afr or not. If I dose trace, alk, and calcium separately, I might as well switch to afr.
true, if you dose Cal/Alk and MG separately you can dose AFR instead unless your tank begin needing one of the 3 more then the other 2... If you stay dosing Alk/Cal/Mg then you can use A-/K+...
If you move to a cal/MG reactor in the future then only have to dose ALK as needed and A-/K+..
Please remember my advice is only a suggestion of what I would do or have done on my tank...

I appreciate this. It confirms what I was thinking was correct. Ill just have to decide if I want to stick with what has worked , or what is more streamlined. Thanks for taking the time to write this up

Well I ordered a Hydros Kraken, Control X4 and wave V2 for the 300..
Gonna have a lot of stuff to sell soon, GHL, Ecotech, Red Sea and power bricks for 12 and 24 volts...
Ill be looking forward to the reviews

? when you all mix saltwater how long do you let it mix for before adding it to the tank . I think instead of doing a water change this time ill just add it slower . Like a little each day to replace whatever evaporated til its at 1.026
?
Everything has been perfectly answered so I was going to but won't elaborate.
IO reef crystals . orange bag
Reef crystals I always mix overnight.
One of the harder salts to get clear IMO but nothing wrong with it.
IO purple bucket I mix overnight but usually okay in about 4 hours.
Red sea blue bucket ready in half an hour, I usually go 2 hours.
Red sea black bucket same as blue but don't go over an hour mixing.
I prefer blue bucket over all of them but mostly use IO for cost and durability. You can mix it forever, store it a long time but it takes planning when doing a change.
