Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I wish I could say this as I've been to all kinds of doctors, MDs and PhDs alike, and there seems to be no solutions for what's going on from the neck up! 😆

Ohhh, I couldn't ever share a name because that's not my style. However, I think these may be more appropriate. I sure hope they don't give too much away. HA!

You know Chris, it’s people like you that give people like you a bad name! 🤔

I hope everyone is doing well. No changes with the tank, snow over here has caused me to miss out on 2 weeks of water changes. I feel terrible but the fish are happy. Accidentally let go on scraping glass I plan to do maintenance today.

Any news on the corals yet Kevin?
They are acclimating, I’ll get a pi when they are out of the bags. One is a bunch of blue clove polyps ( beautiful little dudes), pulsating Xenia and Kenya tree!

@tharbin was it you who was getting the berghia? these aiptasia are popping up everywhere in my tank.
Yes. I used 10 Berghia from Reef Town about a year ago and they worked great but eventuall died out due to lack of feed sources.

A month or so ago my tank started to explode with Aiptasia again so I ordered 5 Berghia from @ReefEngineer. They have been in the tank for just over two weeks now. It is a little soon to be sure they are doing the job (it takes a while for them to start to show results) but I think I'm starting to see less Aiptasia. Either source is good as they all arrived healthy and hungry.

What are nitrates at right now? And p04

It was dry rock originally got it from my LFS
It is some gorgeous rock, I agree. My tank is a mix of live and dry rock. A good portion of the live rock was broken into rubble and added behind my AIO's backwall for mechanical and biological filtration.

It lived up very nicely. I would swear it came out of the ocean!

Yeah well it used to be full of green hair algae for a while since you know water changes at my office were “not that important” for a while in my head. lol 😂 . Now I have around 1,000 collonista snails in a 5 gallon tank. They are tiny but yeah…. lol they are everywhere. I’ll take them over green hair algae though and I may start selling 10 on Facebook marketplace or giving them away lol

Wish I could tell you man... I'll have my license soon so I'll get a job and start buying more test kits. P04 is low though.

How do you know when to stop doing the water changes? All you need for nitrates right now is a bottle of cheap test strips. They will give you a good enough idea what your nitrates are. You do water changes for a certain reason brother. You dont want to be spinning your wheels for no reason Cam

I agree! That looks like expensive, harvested live rock. Looks like the old rock you used to see back in the day
