Esteban was in town once and played a gig with my wife and the other local orchestra players. She won one of his guitars and hats in a raffle. Gave the guitar to the cello player that is also a guitarist and donated the hat to an auction at our church. I think she still has the hat box though.

I used a string and wrapped it around the container then used the tape measure to measure the string. I couldn't find my flexible tape measure.

So, then the diameter is 3.5" or, roughly, the same width as a 500ml plastic bottle like a San Pellegrino Water bottle.

i apologize if it seems I am being a PITA. I simply need to have accurate measurements.

Corrections, my wife just came in and I checked my remembering. Off a little.

They opened for Esteban and his daughter. She won a complete 'kit', guitar with case, guitar stand, set of teaching DVDs, hat with box and autographed poster. All she kept was the poster and hat box. She gave the guitar stand and DVDs to the cello player and donated the guitar, case, and hat for a church raffle.
