I agree , I’ve had both and I would take a Maine lobster any day over a Caribbean spiny lobster!
Don't forget the freshwater Lobster, aka the mud bug

So kind folks I have a question. Sadly there was a failure of a power strip over the weekend that powered the return pump and all other life support equipment to a tank I do maintenance on.

Happened over the weekend. Most everything died. They are on a budget. We all are of course.

What could have kept this from happening? No one is there for about 48 hours. I was thinking maybe an alert over my phone and text.

But not sure what equipment would be best for alerts. I don't think a backup battery would have saved the tank since the power bar did have power to it. It just tripped.

The large Naso was heartbreaking to pull from the tank.

That's cool yeah! That's odd that they're ao different. Some of the ones get in our backyard are a little lighter like the first picture.

The reds are here, but I have to go to Marian county (15 miles from here) to get them. the reds are considered invasive here

not all power strips are created the same, need to look at how many amps they can carry, the higher the amperage, the higher the cost

Oh jeez Shelley that is a gut punch, I am so sorry! I am not a tech guy, I’m old and a product of the public school system. I’m on vacation and I have a camera on which allows me to check in on my phone anytime. I’m sure that the smart people in here will give you tech advice to address I. Again, I’m so sorry. Take this time to take a big breath and then learn from it and go bigger and better! 😢

Hydros has notifications. I'm fairly certain Neptune and GHL would as well.

If you find a WiFi outlet rather than a Bluetooth outlet you can probably set alerts.

Not sure how many the original one was rated for. I will be sure the new one is higher. The tank has a skimmer, return pump, lights, two heaters, UV light and that is about all. But it is a 270ish gallon square tank. And I have no idea how old anything is.

A little more research @code4 and Kasa may offer one as well.

I am old also. Would not even be caring for their tank if not for the fact they couldn't find anyone else. So I offered to help them.

Thanks

kind of a chewy texture to put in a roll. but yes, I do eat the tail and really don't chuck it. but seriously, the rolls (the good ones) are usually just knuckle and claw.
I was like...no!!
