I'm really surprised at how many of these buildings are being preserved and restored. I expected Severance Hall (the home of the Cleveland Orchestra since 1931) to be preserved but I'm surprised the Palace Theater made it because it was closed even before I left Ohio. Even the Cleveland Arcade is somehow still there. I am so glad to see some of these marvelous old buildings are being preserved and renovated around the country.

The last time I went to a movie it was like I was inside a shipping container. We need these old buildings to remind us that things don't have to be minimalistic and laser focused on profit and can exude comfort and style and still be successful.

Exactly they need to be preserved . but to build one would be a fortune . I don’t think they would do it , certainly not with all the ornate designs and furnishing they had back then .

I am in no way a Yankees fan, but it still absolutely blows my mind that they destroyed the original Yankee stadium and built a new one. I mean... that was the house that Ruth built. Lou Gherig's timeless farewell speech was given there.

I am in no way a Yankees fan, but it still absolutely blows my mind that they destroyed the original Yankee stadium and built a new one. I mean... that was the house that Ruth built. Lou Gherig's timeless farewell speech was given there.

I agree. They did the same in Cleveland to Municipal Stadium. I guess the need for more seating or newer amenities is real but some of those old stadiums held real sentiment. One of my most enduring memories is stepping out of the concessions causeway just in time to see Jim Brown go head first into pretty much the entire Pittsburg defense and pop out the other end to run for a touchdown.

I like that some of the early baseball stadiums are still around. Too bad the NFL keeps pushing for bigger and more expensive stadiums. They are losing the history. One thing Cleveland got right though was they fought to keep the Browns name when the team was hijacked to Baltimore. What in the world are the Cardinals doing in Arizona?

Really haven’t felt good since the lettuce thing but over the past 10 days I’ve been feeling progressively worse.. I messaged my NP Friday about getting bloodwork called in but she was out. Got the blood work done and I’m anemic and my kidney function was worse it’s been yet. Just found out I’m being admitted!

Good afternoon friends. It looks like the weather is moving off shore. Nothing is cooler than a storm headed out over the Gulf.
