I've been all over the net, but I'm using 1-1/4 pvc for my DT to sump drain, and I'm looking for an appropriately size strainer to use on the herbie drains, but they all seem to skip from 1 inch to 1-1/2 inch. I'm looking for a coupling that is slip, and not threaded, or a practical solution that I'll be able to use, and remove for cleaning periodically.

How about this? You can step up from your 1.25" pvc to a 1/5" strainer. Just make sure you pay attention to slip/solvet vs. threaded when ordering.

IMO I would not use them. What happens in the case when they clog? Water will not be able to drain, causing a flood.

I would be cautious
