I have 2 rainbow BTA in my tank, a bigger one and smaller one. Both came from the same BTA, just split.
Although the smaller one likes to bubble all nice and puffy, the other one just extends its tentacles and body towards the light.
Bigger one also has greener coloration and smaller more pink/orange/brown ish.
Parameters are all in check with a healthy reef tank. Nothing out of the ordinary.

What could be the cause of the bigger BTA to not be bubbling up?

I asked the same thing a few years back and was unable to find any reasoning for it. An anemone can split, take up residence beside the other with the same light and flow, one might bubble while the other may not.

I had 1 that split into 7. All close to one another. Some bubble some don’t. Then the ones that did, don’t.....and so on. Theyre all healthy and growing like crazy so I’m not worried......

Change in water quality, getting ready to split or hungry
