1 Frag, 3 Id's

Can you please help with some Id's.

On the frag there appears to be some white tentacles coming out, also below the tentacle you can see a circular fan shape thing. These are the first 2.

Finally can this be confirmed as GSP.

Certainly GSP with maybe a bonus brittle star hitchhiker. Second pics looks like zooanthids, or palythoa.

Good catch! Didn't even see that, I was referring to the white leg looking things sticking out of the GSP mat.

Not to sure if that's a brittle star.

the white tentacles seem to come out of the rock, they extend quite a bit and feel around. The little fan thing retracts. I was thinking small fan worm. I googled images of majano and I don't think its a match.

The two small green circles don't appear to be lasting after a day, as you can see in the first pic.

I see a spionid worm and a little feather duster. The green polyps I'm not sure of but if they aren't lasting I would not worry. The rest are harmless.

Okay so one way to tell if it's a nem or feather duster blow a little water on it if it sucks in fast feather duster if it is slow pest nem.

@DEWreefing i'll try that but from memory it was fast.

I liked the little green guys hope they come back.

Dont hope for the green guys to come back!! They werw the bane of my existence a couple years ago! On everything rock substrate!
Thank god vibrant wiped them out!

Resurrecting this. I was just watching the tank and this rock again in particular. Can anyone tell me what the red encrusting the rock is? Is it coralline algae or something else being over run by gsp?

Hard to tell from the picture but it almost looks like another coral like a montipora.

That’s what I was thinking it looks encrusting. What’s the best way to tell?tentacles at night? I’ll try get a better picture

Montipora won't have tentacles. Try to get a few more pictures

Is the underside of that white. Looks like a monti being taken over with GSP

Yes it is bare stone.

If it’s monti I assume it will be dead under the gsp.

Would it be worth trying to remove the gsp to save the monti?
