I purchased a juvenile Hurlequin tusk from Biota. I need to know what should I be feeding it when it arrives because its only 1.5", should i only feed mysis? I feel like mysis might be too big for him.

I've got a baby tusk myself. Mine is slightly bigger, but still a juvy. Chopped up mysis works. If you want, take some frozen mysis and run it over a grater to make it smaller. Mine has also taken to pellets right away (not cb fwiw). I've been feeding tdo and ocean nutrition pellets, both small. The tusk gobbles both up quite readily. I'm going to have to grow mine out for some time before I release him into the display. I've got a cb marine Betta in the display from biota that arrived about the same size as yours. He's probably doubled in size over the last 6 months, though you wouldn't know it as he's always hidden. I really shouldn't have released him in there but at the time he was the only fish. I really should have grown him out elsewhere as well.

How do you chop up mysis, they're already pretty small?

Im sure they are highly nutritious. ReefNutrition makes some awesome products that I use when making my own food. Biota says the tusks eat pellets and I always want my fish eating pellets if possible. Makes going out of town easier. I've got a stupid copperband that will eat all the mysis and clams that you will feed it. He gets excited when the other fish go crazy over the nori and pellets...doesn't have a clue what to do. I haven't left him alone yet, but we have one trip planned this summer and are working on another. I really wish he would take a shining to pellets.
