how often does everyone’s 10 gallons tank evaporate and how many litres do you think you top up each week and should I use a lid or not I’ve heard ther not good and a stop gas exchange.
thanks

its hard to advise the avap rate since we all have different homes, but I would guess 1-2 gallons per week. But 1-2 gallon out of 10 gallons is 10%-20% change of salinity, better to top off every day.

Why not invest in an auto top off, $80 is not that much for peace of mind in this hobby.

No lid unless it can breath. Evaporation depends on many factors like humidity in your home and air movement. From a 10g tank, I'd guess at a gallon a week. But you need to top off the tank more than once a week. I do mine every day or every other day if I'm busy.

Yeah I’ll top it off everyday I’m really busy so ill have to get an ato

I have a 10 gallon AIO that I use as a QT. This summer I was losing right at 1 gallon a week to evaporation. I don't pay as close attention to it now that I have an ATO on it, but it looks like I'm losing a bit more now with the dryer winter air.

My 120gal DT on the other hand loses over a gallon a day :astonished-face:
