Have you figured out a fish stocking plan yet? Or are you just gonna wing it to what strikes your fancy

presently keeping 18 pcs of green chromis , and 5 pcs of five line chromis. I love angel fish, but i am tyring out various schooling fishes for the first time in a reef tank. Didnt have a fish stock plan yet, but maybe i should lol..

nice set up. i am looking into a battery backup for my tank. was just curious about yours. The UPS we have at the office only last about 30 mins and that only powers 2 computers.

Off the shelf UPS is not enough to cater for the tank i feel , unless it is modified with a power inverter connected to some deep cycle battery that can last really long hours.

Wanna share this interesting pcs of equipment which i had been using for the past years. It has help notify me of numerous power failure or temperature getting too high or too low. Since it operate on SMS, i find it more reliable than the email notification that apex offer.

In the event of a power failure or temperature getting out of the setting, the battery will trigger the sms send to you .

Sharing a little tips which i learn from one of a good friend.

In order to cut down on the algae growth on the glass which hopefully also lead to lesser maintenance required to clean the acrylic glass, the position / planing of the lighting rail in the main tank is not "centered" but rather focus on the position of the lighting angle where most of the coral will be .

With lesser light shinning on the panel , it would also mean lesser algae grow on the wall. I could really see the different between this and my frag tank where the glass is fill with some algae growth from the 4 tube of T5 every week which required some cleaning.

Finally setup my Kalkwasser stirrer to link with my ATO .

Below is a DIY of a Auto Top Up water container.

Installed a float swtich from the RO/DI unit.

For those using the apex computer, you should sign up the Apex fushion which make the monitoring and web access so much easier. Although it is still in Beta mode, majority of the main function is still working well .

The temperature and PH graph of my tank . PH start to rise to highest 8.5 after the introduction of the Kalk stirrer , and can see that it drop when light is off.

Since this is my first acrylic tank, I always heard alot of stories how difficult it is to maintain a acrylic tank without scratching it and now i understand . Some of the stubborn algae need to be manually rub off using a acrylic plate itself without scratching the panel , and the algae free magent cant seem to does the job well.

Upon doing some research for a good magnet cleaner which hopefully make my tank maintenance easier, then i came across the Mighty magnet .

Parcel arrived last week, and cant wait to try it out !

Beginning to see some sign of Tank maturing slowly from the numbers of white sponge growing on the refugium tank glass wall and cryptic tank.

Just to share that how we can actually enhance the nutrition value of normal pallet food using vit C or maybe even mixing with fish medicine to become food for disease treatment.

Simply mix the crystalline Vit c powder to dry pallet food and give it a " Good shake " !!

After giving it a good shake , you can actually see that the Vit C powder has been absorb into the pallets.

he weekly test kit which i am using which I only test for ca, KH, mg , N03 and phosphate.

Another observation after using Nulagi aquarium for a few week, without adding any additional coral the weekly uptake of ca,mg and KH actually increase but i see better PE on my SPS which i feel is maybe due to faster coral growing with the improved water quality.

Due to the large evaporation rate in an aircon room , i added another unit of the DI filter mix with a little bit of the commercial N03 removal resin .
