Hi all,
After having lost all my livestock in my two reef aquariums due to a freak fire from the air conditioner, I have decided to move forward with my planned upgrade and start with a clean slate. This aquarium will be massive; It will be a 2 meter (length) by 2 meter (width) by 1 meter (height). It will feature a central overflow, to be able to view the tank from all four sides. Obviously this will take a while, but I plan for the tank to be set up by the end of July. Meanwhile I will be posting updates and what I have planned. Enjoy!

This is going to be amazing, are you thinking of a sump room, or what do you have in mind to place all the equipment to make it work?
+1 to this

Also looking forward to watching this grow! What’s the plan? FOWLR, Reef with some attempts of natural growth?

Quite a late continuation, had to put the project on the hanger due to budgeting restrictions and could only complete it by half the size, so the dimensions are exactly a perfect 1 metre cube with the overflow in the middle. The tank is finally stable enough to grow some acropora and I intend to remove some of the finger leather and the large monti caps to add more acros. I want a schooling group to complete the tank, what are everybody’s thoughts on lyretail or dispar anthias?

Btw please don’t mind the fish trap, I’m trying to catch my naso tang to trade it for a captive bred coral beauty.

My current livestock minus the naso:
1 blue tang
1 foxface
1 banggai cardinal plan to make that 2
1 mandarin female also plan on adding a male
1 aiptasia eating filefish that destroyed my braid corals
1 flame hawkish
1 longnose hawkish
3 oscellaris clowns (normally not recommended but they have established a hierarchy and even started to breed)

HOW MUCH DOES A FISH’S FEEDING REQUIREMENTS AFFECT YOUR STOCKING DECISIONS?
