my custom wood box arrived today, finally have everything i need for the lighting :)

Guys have a query am planning to buy a blue star fish a unicorn tang and a lipstick naso tang is that a good addition? And is IR fine to buy them ? I have a 900L tank

My aquarium actually came today woo :)

I managed to finish the lighting literally 30 minutes before the aquarium arrived

And the cycling beginsss...

Started the cycle with 2 vials of biodigest and 2 vials of biotim

need some advice:

1) should i run the skimmer during the cycling?
2) when should i add any macro algea to the refugium?
3) would i need to do any water changes during the cycling?

after just 4 days of cycling, this is the result

because of my impatience haha, i added a mushroom colony and 4 zoa heads into the aquarium from my nano

these corals have been thrown all over my nano and havent been opening. hence i decided to give them a try in this aquarium. the mushrooms and 2 of the 4 heads are opening wonderfully, the other 2 heads still wont open.

so here's a photo of my sump fully running :)
1st section (right):
water comes in -> 5 layers of japp matt foam -> seachem seagel -> seachem matrix

2nd section (center):
refugium, there are 2 pieces of live rock, cheato and sand. i am lighting the refugium with a standard 12 watt led light like the ones you'd use at home on a reverse cycle for 14 hours

3rd section (left):
the skimmer RD1000, resun king 4 return pump and a float switch for the ATO

on the left of the 3rd section i added an additional 10 cm to the sump as a reservoir for the water for the ATO

this is the skimmate out of my skimmer in just 3 days..
