Hello everyone!

This is going to be my build thread for the 100g cube tank that I just picked up from @reefbox. I will be calling it the wedding cube as i convinced my new wife to let me take on this project as my wedding gift to her.

The tank is 30x30x26 in. Made from 1/2 in low iron glass. The reason it was taken down is the silicone on the back panel gave out. I will be cutting apart the entire tank and rebuilding it from the panes up.

The sump I will eventually be running on it is a trigger systems sapphire 39. I have some equipment I will be running on it during start up. I will list it when I get to the point of going through what I have. The rest is still up in the air.

I am very excited for any fish stocking ideas anyone may have. I am leaning towards a fowlr setup for this one since I have a 125 mixed reef already. And I would like to have some of those beautiful fish that can’t be kept with corals. I think at the moment the only fish my wife for sure wants is a captive bred yellow tang or potentially purple since we lost ours during a power outage. She also loves starfish so that would open the door to some of those species as well.

I am leaning towards bare bottom or coarse coral rubble. I am not set on either and open to any thoughts that might be out there. I have plenty of very cycled rock as well so I will most likely be constructing a hnsa style aquascape. Again nothing is set in stone yet so I am open to ideas on the design of the rock work when I get to that point.

Here’s some pictures of the transportation process as well as the broken seam.

Euro bracing removed! One step at a time, I'm beginning to think I may have found why the seal failed. The silicone in the joints is very thin, to the point I can barely fit a razor blade between the panes. It is definitely not 1/16 in joint.

Just came across this from our conversation when you wanted to pick it up.

Any updates? I'm really excited for you to bring this tank back from the grave. It's been my favorite tank in all my time in the hobby.
