If I owned one, I'd be using it as a settlement tank wherein it collected detritus that could be easily removed via a valve at the bottom of the cone shaped collection bottom of the tank. I'd like to have it, but I'm too close to the end of my reef hobby days...

I use two of these for mixing station far better than standard drum as this doesn’t allow salt to settle at bottom

If I ever have room for one, this is exactly how I’d use it too. I’ve always wanted my overflow to drain to one of these first.
