That's 28 people in the last 6 weeks, out of only 55 people in my office. I managed to avoid the bullet once again, but for how long... I am not sure.

The recession IS NOT over....

Hang in there man. I work sales, they don't lay us off just cut the crap out of our commissions.... I have 4 interviews next week, I figure if they are going to pay me less, they'll be paying me to look for another job also...:xd:

I have been out now for a year! I did not for the Oboma Change nor do I believe in him but thank you BO for the extentions. But hang in there, get to work early and stay late and always be there for your clients and the others that your peers take care of,but left early and you are there for them.

The worst part today is the survivor's guilt... It's hard to even look at the guys that got laid off knowing I was one of the few that didn't.

Today = extra green beers tonight

hang in there and make the most out of it.. I have been unemployed for almost a yr next month and as much as I like to be with my kids , Our savings is getting pretty low and now I wish , I just sucked it up with the new management :(

I've been searching for 6 months.

Sorry to hear that guys, I guess I have been one of the lucky ones. Let's all drink out troubles away tonight!!! Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

I owned a real estate company. This started right at the same time as my divorce; with the one two punch I am now a full time student, and live with the parents. Kind of nice to have freedom though, even at the cost.

my husband got laid off a couple of months ago. before that last may his hours was cut. our saving is nearly gone. its all I can do to pay the mortgage. my job is now trying to cut our overtime out, insurance premiuns went up. may end up losing the home and renting again. here in MS homeowners insurance policys double this year. my insurance guy said thet had been granted a rate increasedfor all areas affected by hurricance katrina. my ins premiun was 1900 a year now its 3500. ins payment 291.60 a month.

I was laid off april 09. When i first got to my company there was 6k of us. When i left 5 years later there was 47 of us. I have still not found a job and i have two degrees and a masters. So much for having the education.

I got laid off 2 months ago, then my fiance got laid off a month ago. Needless to say THANK YOU Mommy and Daddy for giving us a place to live before they kicked us out of the apartment. I use to install Fire Alarms in commercial buildings and she is a Vet Tech. With no jobs people do not take their animals to the vet then just get rid of them and people do not build new offices. I would say at least 40% of the offices downtown Orlando are empty. It sucks!

my ins premiun was 1900 a year now its 3500. ins payment 291.60 a month.

:ooh: Holy crap! I pay less than half that per month and it includes auto insurance on two vehicles. That really sux that they bleed you like that... I don't think I am ever leaving Pittsburgh. We have a little bit of everything here and the cost of living is cheap as hell compared to other places. I remember being at company training in Colorado and talking to a guy that was working in California and he was all happy cause he and his wife of 6 months just got their first house and they got a great deal on a 900 sq ft ranch for $398,000!!!! I'm thinking I would have a 5,000 sq ft house in Pittsburgh for that.

its hard. every dime goes to bills. last year my husband decided to help our 3 girls get vehicles[so they could stop borrowing ours], we couldn't cosign due to their credit score the cars had to be in our name. this dropped our credit score badly. now if we get anything the interest rate is high. even though the girls pays their car notes on time and has never been late. Its hard to make it here in MS, his unemployment checks are 230 dollars weekly, he used to bring home 2500 monthly. thank god I still have my nursing job.
