120 Gallon resealed seams

Hi all,

Purchased a 120 gallon marineland corner flow tank from marketplace. Seller resealed before delivery. Did a fill test in the garage and noticed the seams don't look completely adhered to the glass. Am I cooked?

Try shining a light in to the seam through the glass if possible…

Yikes! It looks like someone got a bit heavy handed with a scraper/razor blade there!

I wouldn’t be surprised if this tank still holds water, but I wouldn’t trust it to live in my home and not flood the place eventually…

You could theoretically do a bunch of resealing and Seam reinforcing; but the tank looks to be quite old, and the seals tired… — (“resealing” the interior of the tank does very little for structural strength unless additional glass is added as a reinforcement!)

It would still make a fun tank if placed in a location where a leak isn’t going to do any damage, and stocked accordingly! — terrariums are fun too!

I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news… though it is better than a flooded house!
