A little update with the kessils, they are awesome "only along with t5" and I have them on a 30 day break in period.

I ended up with one blue plus, one actinic, one aquablue special, and one coral plus for the t5 bulbs with a modified kessil lighting schedule.

I have messed with it so much and wasted so many days watching it and messing with it i think I'm done for now. It will still be a while before any corals go in there but i want to be done with the lighting before then. I can't believe how awsome lighting is now its amazing.

I have it visually appealing and following kessils lighting schedule for time length and peak hours to go along with the t5 times.

Way to much light, for way to long. I'm not sure why they would be on at weird times with the modified kessil schedule, but now I have my own truly custom lighting schedule.

I got rid of any red and green colors on the kessils and shortened overall "t5 lighting" time to only at "peak time". About 12 total hrs of light

Really nice lights to use in combination wit t5. So now dealing with a little more algae than I'd like to.. but amazing lights to my eye! just waiting for next blk Friday so I can get a third one on sale this time....

Here's some update pictures with 20000k lense

Looks nice. How long have you had the rocks in there? I’ve had rocks follow me for 4-5 builds. Amazing how they hold up. I like the bare bottom look of the tank. Following along!

ive had at least one of those big rocks on the right since 2000 and added the rest shortly after for the next few years. when i first got started in saltwater i started with a single tank and moved up in size a couple of times and had a few tanks at once all with that rock. all this rock was bought from a LFS that was near me for around 6-7$ lbs for live rock they have died back a few times in storage tanks and piled up with little light a few times when i moved around . but they have always been in water since the day i got them and the basic perimeters were kept.

thank you for your interest i appreciate it!

Still battling a little cyano and gha, the plan is to grow out coraline till its super thick, so when corals go in the snails can keep the rock surface cleaner. I also want to get the tank super stable its still drinking alk daily.

I figure the one year mark maybe less,, im not rushing this 1 plus money is tight and aquatic prices are up!

The first frags, im going all Leptoseris bottom with intersecting colors i have a few with another on the way (incredible hulk, J.F sun God, tangerine juice, toxic waste, disco ball, J.F klepto lepto, and waiting on a J.F lava flow) so with all these im hoping to cover the ground and keep the front and side glass clear of it., then get them use to higher flow down there. Idk work in progress...

I'm still placing frags . Alk/cal/mag is getting stable the dosing takes care of its self i almost dont need to check it weekly anymore.

im doing an upgrade to the system before it gets 2 far along, I just purchased a Fiji cube 48gallon shallow tank and stand im going to plumb into the system for extra water and frags and other fish all kinds of activities can happen and I should have gotten a bigger tank originally! Lol

Fiji cube is having a sale right now not to big

The main tank is doing good n03 and p04 are finally stabilizing, I've had to mess with the skimmer schedule, it just strips the water to fast. Other than that waiting on the cube I have the plans figured out in my head it will be a few months to aquire all the parts but it will be sweet. Im going with the kessil ap9x for lights and probably some dc pump from main sump.

Well in anticipation of dinos(they poked their heads out already), when adding the new feag tank into the system I got this bad mama jama, its going to be in temporary mode behind the main display for a while until I figure out the best way to put it in place, its huge!

I added a light shield around my aquatic life fixture also I added a third kessil 360x , peak day right now they only get to 75% im not pushing them hard. I have the t5's set to 2xblueplus 2xactinic ATI on about 9hrs the kessils are 12hrs and this is the way it will be for a while.

The main thing I did is the light shield I cant believe I didn't do it sooner I think I've been hurting my eyes with these leds, but the shield is just a black piece of acrylic I ripped down to fit, and I velcro the acrylic to the fixture with h.d velcro its amazing only cost about 50$!

I'm excited... ;)
