Thank you
It was sold to me as a frag of "ultimate Efflo" a few years back at a swap.
The maricultured, aquacultured, wild collected debate has always gave me a chuckle. At what point does a coral become aquacultured? Obviously freshly collected wild or maricultured pieces aren't aquacultured but how long does it have to be in your system before it's aquacultered? 6 months 2 years? If I cut a frag off a wild piece and encrusts the plug is it now considered aquacultured?
Good dissuasion. For me...Everything has to be grown in-house to be aqua culture. No chop shop stuff like well...it's been sitting in our system for 6months now-naw still Mari-culture. But if a newly acquire mother colony grew new frags while in captivity then those new frag pieces will do it for me. I just ask questions and will usually know base on response from seller or tone of them. Everyone is different...I'm assuming...just my take...

Lol!
Good point.
And another question is when does a coral stop being what it is, and becomes your own strain?
I went to a big trade/frag show in Orlando once. Many common pieces, one inch frags, priced at $100.00 and more. When i would question why is a Red Planet (or any common Acro) being sold under another name for$100.00? They would explain because it is " their own special in house morph". I kid you not.

At what point in your tank did it stop being a Red Planet?
Apparently, every coral I own became my own morph the second it went into my system.

I guess that a coral becomes aquacultured the moment you frag and place it in your system. I am sure you just doubled it's value. Lol.

Got a hold of the clubs par meter and found some interesting results.

Main display lighting 8x54w ATI dimmable both channels at 100% hung 7" from the surface. All Giesemann bulbs about 3 months old.

Actinic blue
Actinic blue
Super actinic
Aqua blue azure
Super purple
Actinic blue
Aqua blue azure
Actinic blue

Par#'s
Just below the surface 475-500
At the sand bed 90-150
All the Acros are getting 200-300

Overall very even par which is expected with t5 but thought par would have been a bit higher on the Acros. On the other hand my rock work is a bit low most the corals are mounted 12" or more from the surface

Also took readings on the frag tank. Have 2 of the 165w black box LEDs
Lights are hung 10" off the water. Blue channel at 100" white/red/green channel at 30% par ranges from 50-200.

Wonderful tank! what is your lighting schedule for the channels on the ATI?
