Great tank! Congrats!

I had a question regarding your sump/refugium set up... you said it was a 3 chamber simple set up. Does this mean the overflow comes into the first chamber into a filter sock, where you also house the skimmer? Looking at the picture i think that's how you have it set up... 1st chamber water comes in, and also houses the skimmer, second chamber is refugium? and third chambe is return? Do i have that right? lol

Yep, the main line drops into the skimmer chamber on the left, but there it a "T", with a ball valve to control flow, going into a refugium on the right. The return chamber is in the center.

Ah i see, so the overflow spills water both in first and third chamber, and then both those chambers flow into the middle, and it gets returned up from the middle? Interesting, you know i never thought of doing that lol. I just always thought it has to start from one end, and end up at the other.

My better half does all the plumbing, but we wanted as big of a refugium as possible volume-wise, and this made the most sense.

Any build thread on the typing of plumbing he used? I'm in the process of adding a sump and I am going to have a refugium as well. I have limited space so i want to make sure i build one that can give my skimmer and refug section the biggest space possible...

thanks in advance

It's just your standard schedule 40 PVC and fittings from Home Depot, nothing special. Unfortunately, I don't think he documented the plumbing set-up but I'm sure he could help if you come up with questions.

Sure thing -

first question is, when the overflow pipe comes down, it goes into the filter sock, but also it goes to the refugium chamber, something similar to the pic i drew up below? And i see there's a ball valve or something similar controlling the flow that goes to the refuge?

Well, didn't really get the picture lol but yea, it's a ball valve controlling the flow @Vahanyos

In other news, really happy having fish back in the tank. My wrasses have been showing off a bit, so I figured I'd share a few pics:

No plugs for the most part. I usually snap them off the plug and just super glue them right to the rock, it looks more natural and reduces the risk of pests. Although, from this point on all corals will be run through 76-day QT first, so pests are a little less of a concern now.

Most of them were bought locally from other reefers. A couple were ordered online, and some from my LFS.
