A little progression comparison for the corals from march to now:

Unfortunately, the regal angel passed away this week. He never really ate well for us, and I think the second bout of parasites was too much for it.

Not much to report... cruising through with just kalk or 2-part, regular water changes, and feeding the fish.

Been lazy about cleaning the back glass and my H likes it "dirty", so he won't clean it when he does maintenance lol

But, here we are December 17'

The potters is a love-hate thing...he's a personable fish and it took him a long time to start to eat, but when he finally did he started eating everything. Including nipping the clam and most of the lps. So, those were moved to the 40b for now.

I like fish and sps equally, and clams and lps just a "tiny" bit less. If he starts munching on sticks though, he might find himself evicted.

Thank you. The clowns were a little touch and go at first. We took a gamble and ordered a "small" clarkii from LA, quarantined him separately and then with all the issues we had, kept it in QT way longer than anticipated. When we added him to the existing one they were dead on the exact same size. And fought. A good bit.

Eventually they worked it out, and the "female" doubled in size in literally a matter of days. Since she grew, they've been getting along perfectly.

Overall brightness is 100%, but it peaks at 75%. Starts ramping up at 7:15am and night mode kicks in at 8:00pm ish. My husband set the individual points, I know he has coral radiance on for a while and a couple custom settings in between...I'll ask him for the schedule. He likes to mess around with it though lol

Little update. We picked up a doser a few weeks back, and it’s definitely nice not having to worry about manual dosing anymore. It wasn’t too tough to get dialed in either.

Also, hubby fashioned a floating wooden canopy to add two T5 bulbs to the radions, to help reduce shading. It came out real sleek, I think, and the extra light makes the tank pop. Have one blue+ and one actinic bulb in now.

Tank is just past the one year mark, and I’m really happy with how things are looking!

Very nice! Love your wrasses! I wish I were bold enough to put a Potter's in a reef :)

Thanks! It seems like everyone around my local area has one. This one in particular nips clams and fluffy LPS (like acans, our open brain, and trumpet corals), and he *might* graze sps polyps here and there...but so far hasn’t done any real damage to the SPS or he would be getting the boot [emoji39]

Most of our LPS and our clam were moved from this tank to a smaller one because of him. They are happy in their new digs though.

I haven’t written about this gal in a while. This is the same green mandarin I’ve had all along. If anyone was following my QT journal, this is the one that we hypnotized with the radions to catch [emoji23]

She lived for MONTHS in a 20g QT. We did end up putting rock in there when there wasn’t medications, and seeding it with pods to give her a head-start. Besides that, she lived solely on nutrimar ova, fed 1-2 times a day.

Since she’s been in the big tank we no longer feed the ova. She finds plenty to eat and has a nice round belly ;)
