First of all I would like to thank everyone on reef2reef for been so welcoming. This a 12 gallon tank. 2 kg of live rock sand bottom this tank runs on 2 power heads and a air stone no skimmer no filter. I use a bit of poly filter in the tank on a peg . Have had no real problems yet this tank was set up in October 2022 . Water changes where once a week but going to change to fortnightly.

Update few changes to my nano . Change one power head to one that has a filter box on it and turned it upside down working as a surface skimmer. Also a internal filter both filters holding filter wool and carbon . The tank is crystal clear . Water changes every 10 days . ph8.2 /ammonia 0/nitrite 0 / and nitrate 0.25 . One over head led light and a submersible blue led night light . The salt I am using is instant ocean . Don’t use a protein skimmer. In the tank I have 1 regal damsel/ 4 turbo snails . I have just seeded the tank with copepods let’s see how that goes. Three other damsel that are going to be moved to a lot larger tank.also made a auto top up out of a juice bottle works brilliant.

Update : Removed all fake corals out of the tank added a BTA could be a little early but lets see if things go ok . BTA has been in a week just fed it tonight closed up straight away now back open . This little tank is very stable at the moment and my auto top up juice bottle is keeping salinity bang on every time I test it . So let’s see how well this BTA does fingers crossed . Seeded the tank with copepods and on a night lights out there are plenty moving about . Will keep you’s updated .

update: BTA still doing fine . One domino damsel has fallen in love he rolls around in the BTA every time I try and get photos of him he jumps out . The damsels are getting moved out this weekend. Iam going to leave a regal damsel in so nitrate and phosphate don’t bottom out . What is your thoughts. Here’s a couple of photos and you can see lover boy waiting till I’ve taken the photo LOL

Update of BTA progress looking good and healthy. Also setting a 5 gallon qt get that up and running soon had to reseal the little tank only cost £5 pounds for the tank . Going to make two home made skimmers in the next few weeks and will post how they get on . Photo of BTA this morning

QT all done . Tank was £5 and the heater and filter were spare ones . This will do for any small fish I buy before gong in any DT. Paint was in the shed so a nice little cheap tank. Only thing to make is a auto top up gravity fed bottle which I will make and post later .
