On another but related subject, my fibromyalgia medication was just tripled and I got a lot more done today than in my usual week. YAY ME! XD It's amazing, being in less pain.

Sooo two things.
My Duncan is alive and fairly open, but the tentacles on the polyps are not extending as nicely as before, and I am concerned I may yet lose the colony.

I am currently running LEDs and, as acans are one of my favorite corals and I am having the same issues described in the video (such as apparently healthy torch polyps detaching from their skeleton), I'm going to attempt to go half-T5s on this tank and see what happens. My T5 fixture is currently on my QT tank, so I will have to wait a while before attempting it. If that does not solve the problems, I will save up for a 4-bulb T5 fixture. I'm also planning to buy the new E5 bulbs for it as soon as I am financially able (after the berghias...which could be a while...bleh).

I met Mike Paletta probably 20 years ago. He was a good friend with my boss at the lfs. He was sharing with my boss about setting up a fuge, which was cutting edge at that time.
BRS also has videos on 50 weeks of reefing which is really educational on all sorts of reefing subjects. I will keep an eye on it and see if they address your issue of tissue peeling off.

The baby molly, "Surprise", is doing well. She just got transferred to the 10g tank from her breeder net. I had some worry that she wouldn't handle the current, but she's like a little torpedo in there. <3

My darling wife is getting me two peppermint shrimp today (all we could afford at the moment.) Hopefully they start reducing the population. If they don't...well, I'll have to save up for the berghias.

I moved some frags of my favorite corals to Surprise's tank to try and protect them, so that I'll be able to repopulate the 150 if I take too long and the aiptasia destroys my favorites or possibly everything. They're destroying my zoas/palys as we speak, so....
Unfortunately I seem to be unable to remove any polyps of my Sunny Ds from the rock without killing them, so I guess my favorite paly is on its own. Good luck to it.
I passed on moving two nice corals because they have polyps so big I was afraid they might swallow my baby fish. I'd put them in the main quarantine but I fear there's too much nitrate in there for them (I'm working hard just to keep it down enough for healthy fish.)

I woke up to 19 new baby mollies today!!

Picked up 3 new female Mollies yesterday. I drip-acclimated them to the saltwater overnight, and they're doing great. Needed to get our current male some more female company before he runs the lone female into the ground. X.x They need to grow a bit, but other than that they're good, actively eating and working out the hierarchy. I put them in the 10g with Surprise instead of the 40...just to be safe.

My nitrates are still higher than my Red Sea kit is reading, but I must be doing something right...the corals which had lost their color are getting it back. The frogspawn has multiple new polyps on it, and no cyano that I can find. Now, if I can just get rid of the aiptasia and replace my fuge light all will be well. My fish haven't got a single white spot on them, and I can't wait to start slowly adding them back in early April <3

Well, I must be doing something right. My palys are coloring back up, and all the other surviving corals appear to be doing great. I've allowed some hair algae to grow with the idea of allowing it to aid me in my attempt to drop the nitrate and phosphate, though due to needing to replace the 10ml syringe in my red sea kit I've been unable to test them. The asterinas were devouring my chaeto so it has been moved in with the fish. I need to thin their numbers again. Thankfully, they have not touched my corals.

Still...I'm just...so tired....
The interest is still there, but I feel so weak :(

Aiptasia is still overrunning things...waiting as patiently as I can for a solution.

I certainly don't intend to quit. I'm, uh...yeah. Stubborn. Thankfully, at least the fish are all eating well and showing no signs of disease now, so when it's time to slowly reintroduce them all it should go well. I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that, until I get some berghia, I may have to run fish-only. I do have a couple of frags of my favorites sitting in one of the quarantines, and while they don't care for the conditions in there too much they may yet be the key to reseeding my tank after this mess is under control.

Still exhausting, though.

Almost all my equipment is working fine, too, thankfully. I accidentally broke the bulb on my fuge light, which is why I've had to move all of my chaeto to the QT tanks. I had it in the display for a while, but I have so many asterinas that the the ball began shrinking at a concerning rate. XP The little fluorescent bulb isn't terribly expensive...should be able to get that soon...I need to carefully enlarge the bracket that's supposed to hold it on before I can put it back in, too. I imagine a sharp razor blade should do the job.

The baby molly count is down to 16, but the remaining babies are growing nicely and doing very well. They've been released into the 10g housing two other smallish mollies and are doing proper molly things XD
My darling bought me 3 new mollies so that my poor black female doesn't get run to death, and so far everyone's getting along - with one glitch. The creamsicle "female" I purchased had such long fins that it concealed the fact that she was a male XD Hes too gorgeous to return, though, so that's now 4 females (counting young Surprise) to two males. I think they'll be okay.

I didn't really quarantine the new mollies. They came from freshwater, so I figured pretty much any freshie diseases or parasites would be killed upon the acclimation to saltwater. So far that seems correct. For anyone interested, they were slow-dripped overnight.

Something about watching the babies makes me feel warmer inside and eases the tension...the two QTs are on the kitchen floor, so sometimes I grab a pillow and blanket and lie there watching them. Fell asleep in front of them the other day.

I had a 10 gallon tank for a year before upgrading to a 40 gallon never had a problem I kept 15 little guys in my 10 gallon tank 15 !
Water changes do help a lot at least once a week you'll notice the difference !

It's extremely difficult for me to take care of water changing, at least enough to make a real difference... I'm a weakling XP but I do try. I'm also maintaining a molly nursery and a quarantine at the same time. I'm proud of the improvement. For me, it's an achievement.
