I just bought a cade 500 Nano, thinking of going down the MH route with a giesemann 150w Nano unit.

It's primarily a SPS system but will have LPS,

What 150w bulbs are still available? I may have to supplement them I know.

I don't like the windex look, I'm after a 12 or 14k but could go 10k and the use the blue supplementation to bring the pop in.

Cheers

I order mine from aqua bright solutions, I used them only once so far and I had no issue. I use the 14k bulbs normally, but last time I restocked they were out so ordered 20k. I also have a 6500k bulb as a spare.

Not many vendors, and the prospects are dwindling, T5s are close behind. Get them while you can.

Do you have any pictures of your tank under the 14k and 20k?

Really don't know what to go for and seeing as I'm in Australia, I don't want to get it wrong

Check out this thread, this guy compares 10k and 14 so you can see the difference. I'll post my tank with 20k shortly when my lights turn on.

Think outside the fish store!

Electrical Supply houses can get what ever you want. If you know an electrician and their company has an account, you can get stuff MUCH cheaper through them.

You can also check out the USHIO online store. They make all types of lamps, including 10k, 14k & 20k metal halides.
