Light schedule for my 54G corner

54G Corner tank - The end Goal is a mixed reef with something like 60% SPS, 25% LPS, 15% mushroom/zoas mixed in and a clam or two.
The tank is only about a month old.

Does anyone run a halide for only a short amount for Peak Par mid day ?
Pars # below - Appogee 420x

Two Noopsyche K7 Pro IV
315W Ceramic Metal halide with 10K bulb on 50% setting - approx 210 watts

Sorry about the cloudy tank. I pulled the Appogee out within 2 hours of getting water in the tank. I am sure the cloudiness also pulled the par numbers down a bit.

I am currently running the K7 pros from 9am -9pm with a 1hr ramp on the Default LPS setting in the app.
I am just bringing the Halide online and running it only 3 hours a day currently from 12-3pm. plan is to increase 1 hour a week till I am at 6 hours.

I need to pull the Par meter out again as I never tested just the Noop alone just as the combo running.

K7 and Halide
Sand bed centered is at 245 Par, first shelf on island centered is 390, top of center island is 540, Clam shelf L-high left wall 490, Clam shelf Overflow - 334

Lowest Par is the very far corners down to 160

When the Halide come on I turn all the whites off on the K7s. I love the colors, very natural to the eye but still enough pop on the corals.

SPS in top half of tank, Lps on the islands in the center mushroom/zoas ion the floor and lower walls. I know I will have lots of shading overtime.

This sound reasonable? pictures have par measurements And a photo of it currently.

fun note - turning the Halide up to 100% and i get 550 @ the sand bed, 790 on the top of the center island and over 1000 1" below surface.

Not a lighting expert but it looks fine to me. My tanks do fine with just the same par throughout the day as it turns off at night. Since testing PAR is a hassle, most people just put things closer the the light or closer to shadows depending on what makes their corals(and others) happy.

Running single intensity all day is how I have always ran my halides and cheap black box LED in the past.

With the fancier programmable & rampable LEDs it is nice to bring things on slowly and peak mid day.

This is what I am going for more or less. ramp up / ramp down with heavier blues. mid day peak hi Par.

The pair of noopsyche k7s is plenty of light to grow just about whatever I want in this tank but would have to be cautious with placement. The halide is for growth and the ability to run high light requirement corals lower.

I just put in some monti cap frags and they ae not doing well, I believe its from intensity of the halide. But could just be due to shock of the tank transfer and the poor storage while in transit.
That said I am keeping the halide off for a couple days, letting the monti settle and will start my halide light acclimation over again. I have some on a frag rack down low and they are fine, but the two I glued to the rocks are turning white.

I am thinking in the future I may have to put corals on the frag rack down low in the tank and then raise the rack weekly till I get near the intensity of where I plan to place the corals in the tank. acclimate and let them adjust to the higher light source.

or am i really just overthinking it?
