15G nano… how many fish?

Okay, I’ve stocked 20G tanks, 25G tanks, 100G tanks and now a (5’) 180G tank.
With the help of a friend I’ve now got a 15G tank (or estimated to be around that).
I’ve got a few fish on a list already that are potential options but have no idea how many I’d do in total - dimensions I’m not too sure on but a guess is an 18” cube.

you'll be very limited in what fish you can have based on their size once full grown, but in general i'd say about 3 fish

I have 3 fish in my 15g. You may be able to pull off 4 with the help of a protein skimmer. My 15g is 15in, so yours may be a bit bigger.

Definitely figured that was the case, although a lot of the fish on this list are 1-2 inches max size.

so many good options! will definitely be tough to narrow it down. and honestly given that list you may be able to get away with more fish if the filtration accounts for it.

Depends on the fish. Total biomass more important then number comprising that biomass. Single large maroon likely taking up more biomass then three small yellow-tail damsels, for example. Filtration matters as well as ability to provide adequate gas exchange. Upgrade both and biomass capacity increases.

Saw the pistol shrimp, you could do say a Yasha or similar shrimp goby as well, as long as you don’t have coral near its home to get buried. If you go Micromussa I’d say if you can swing the expense get an HG . Super bright and can handle/prefers higher par.

Yeah, the plan so far is a Yasha/Pistol pair and the Colin’s Fairy Goby.
Just to decipher what others to go for on the list…

I would say 3 "normal" sized fish, but I have 7 fish in my 15. One RG, and 3 clown gobies, neon goby, redhead goby and a masked goby. The tank is 3 years old and the last fish was added early last year, they all get along fine.

Im interested in putting a royal gammma in my 15. I have a pair of clowns and a tailspot blenny right now. My filtration is robust and I have a ton of live rock. Interested to see what a RG owner thinks
