Update. Still chock full of algae, really just been on cruise control for a while. Kind of been neglected to an extent....still surprised at how well this tank is doing for my shoddy maintenance/care. Here are some quick bad photos of a filthy tank! Sorry if they are large, I work on a 34" ultrawide monitor....nothing is to big. You can check them out on Flickr to see a different size.

This tank is roughly right at 3 years old now, though I did have one crash a year in but ran the tank through it, so 3 total but 2 as it stands now.

Be sure to check out the two little new growth sprouts on the left side, pretty cool.

Thanks all. The wall mounted frags are on magnetic frag disks, they work well but if you don't move them the disks basically fuse to the glass like cement, as you can see on the back left side there is a spot of white. You can scrape it off but it's a pain. The best idea is to leave them be, but if they aren't growing a base fast enough to the glass when you do a water change the weight of the coral will drop them off the glass (my water level drops during WC I know some don't). They are a great way to fit in more frags with less space, and once they really grow they can cover open areas well.

That looks great! I like the wall mounted frags.

I agree that's a neat addition I haven't seen in a lot of tanks. Makes great use of the space as well.

I wonder if someone makes magnetic discs that you could mount with a magnet on the outside and not have to use glue. This gives me another rabbit hole to chase as I learn more about this hobby!

Hey, It's still going but I've lost a few small coral to neglect...mainly smaller frags. Most of the stuff on the rock is still kicking quite well. But it's turned into an algae paradise. It needs more water changes but I've been killing myself at work lately. Need to get back ontop of things. Not photo worthy at the moment but it's still there!

No wild discus, I got rid of discus a couple years ago now. Would love to get more but I have to let my Tropheus group go first and still trying to find a buyer for that.

Dang Matt, you can't bring those to a lfs? I gave up on trying to get wilds after I saw what we get vs others for the same price.. anyways that nano looks good. You have a radion xr30 or 15? What intensity?

I suppose I could, but they'll probably only give me store credit and I'd rather have cash to use in other planned ventures. Have no use for LFS store credit, haven't set foot in the door in about 2-3 years sadly. I have the XR15 Pro, it was running at an overall 90% but I just cut it back some to see if that helps control some of the algae in between WCs.

Yeah I hear you about the store credit. I wish I had issues with too much nutrients. I've got a 10g that I cannot get phosphates in. I'm feeding two fish twice daily, dosing nutrients and amino acids, and feeding reef frenzy everyday. Cannot get phosphate above 0.00 on Hannah, removed my chemical filtration two days ago. Nitrates stay around 2ppm. Needless to say my lps and sps are suffering, hoping I can get things in line soon.

What's the width of your tank and settings for your mp10? I'm running a jabao sw2 at about 400gph pulse. Can't manage to get good PE out of my acros and driving me nuts.

beautiful tank. How do you like that skimmer. I'm shopping for a hang on the back for my nano.

Wow really?? I always seem to have way to much in mine though I don't actively measure that often anymore to know how much. I'm definitely not doing enough WCs currently though that is clear.

The tank is 15x15", I'll check once I get home but pretty sure I'm on reef crest very high almost on max. Never had an issue with it and I never ramp it down.

The more I talk to people the more I feel this tank is an anomaly and not the norm lol, feel lucky with some of the stuff I've gotten away with in this tank full of SPS.

I really need to get my head back into it, busy work schedule and tank neglect took its toll and I lost some interest for a while and the tank has visibly suffered. I'd still like to upgrade and actually run a larger tank with a sump, but never wanted to spend the money. I will eventually if I can't control my nutrients in this tank and the algae drives me to upgrade and have a fresh restart.

Yeah I've been trying to sell off what I have to get a system with a sump. Even the small Red Sea reefer nano. Just the sump with skimmer and what not would be much nicer.
