No, if you assume the worst in stuff you make irrational Decisions and overcomplicate everything, I used to think like how he did and it was way better when I realized if I keep stuff as simple as possible and let nature fill in the blanks then I will have a thriving tank, it works in fresh and if I give salt the right equipment it will work there too

I’m probably going to just get 25 lbs of LR because 45 seems like it would overflow the tank. I’m going to get pvc covered in mortar to make it more contiguous though

What kind of freshwater tanks are you keeping? If it’s just cheap plastic decorations with some guppies then sure not much work is needed. But when you get into high tech planted tanks, things become a little more complicated. Then we move on to reefing, where things are even more delicate. STOP comparing this to freshwater! They are not the same!

I agree that it isn’t natural. But I keep a small plastic guppy tank. And it works alright, with the proper equipment. Yet with the equipment you want, that’s about all you can do.

Just reading some stuff on mantis and the common ones in the gulf stay tiny, I’m probably not going to get some freak of nature Shaquille O’Neil foot long mantis shrimp speaker that will get its claw stuck in the glass of my tank

Tiny can still kill. It doesn’t need to be large to do damage. Glass breaks are rare and mostly with large guys, but repeated strikes can cause it nonetheless.
