There are 2 clams side by side and directly touching each other’s shells. I don’t know why they managed to move. Maybe the flow pushed them into each other?

Anyway, they are both attached already. I tried gently poking them but they were not loose. Will they break each other’s feet when they grow to a large size? Do maxima clams have the ability to retract byssal threads if they become uncomfortable?

They can twist themselves around.
I would not move them. Once settled, hate to be moved.
They will look for the light and adjust themselves.
They will “bury” themselves over time into the rockwork.

Derasa sleeping on Sqamosa.
