My tank is 260 gallons. It was built in 2022:

It went through ups and downs. Last year, AEFW were introduced, so I had to remove the acropora and dip them in QT for 6 weeks.

Current fish list:
  • Orange shoulder tang
  • Chromis x6
  • Lyretail anthias x1
  • Royal gramma
  • Ocellaris clownfish
  • White tail bristle tooth tang
  • Midas blenny
For the corals and inverts:
  • Acropora
  • Montipora
  • Trachyphyllia, Acanthophyllia, and Lobophyllia
  • Goniopora
  • Torches and Hammers
  • Zoanthid
  • Clams
  • Linkia Starfish (Blue)
  • Snails
  • Peppermint shrimp

I’ve been keeping things ultra simple lately, and I think the tank inhabitants prefer it that way.

I knew it. LOVE ATI Sunpowers.
You just can't deny the color or growth of corals under ATI fixtures and bulbs.

Your reef tank is absolutely stunning! The vibrant colors and lively movement of the coral and fish create a mesmerizing underwater paradise—it’s clear you’ve put so much care and passion into making it a true work of art.

I def did not ask AI to write me a compliment for your tank

Looks great! What are you dosing? What does “keeping it simple” mean to you?
The main thing I changed was stopping ozone. I’ve tried it on and off for 1-2 years, adding it weekly, and the Acropora didn’t seem to like it.

I also took a break from carbon dosing for about a month or so. Coincidentally, last night, I slowly restarted the vinegar dosing to see if there would be any positive changes without ozone.

What’s your ca/alk supplement? Any ICP testing/trace elements?
Thanks for any information. I saw your growth in the Battlecorals efflo grow out and was just hoping to find out the keys to your success.
I know T5 is a good start for growth and color!

Thanks! I’m always experimenting and researching on ways to get the best growth rate. I really enjoy competing.

My current methodology is this, but it is always subject to change as I learn, research, and test out things.

Strong flow.
Par around 350-400 with wide spectrum blue and some, but not too much, deep reds.
Higher Alkalinity and pH.

I add Tropic Marin Trace A & K. I use ICP sparingly.

I’d like to add that mine isn’t the biggest in the contest, but I’m pretty proud because it was my first time participating.

Dude that growth is awesome. I look forward to getting in on the next contest. Looking for your secret sauce!
Alkalinity/calcium/magnesium addition?
I’m using A4R and playing with the idea of splitting it with kalk to up my pH. I’m planning on buying an apex next apex sale to start getting an idea of where my pH is and get a game plan from there.
