Well, about three months ago I picked up a BEAUTIFUL Achilles Tang, and with my current system being a RSR 650, I knew eventually that he would outgrow the system. And that got me thinking, "What if I just upgrade with my prized fish?". Talked to my wife, and 3-year-old, and my unborn set of twin girls, and they all agreed. Gotta go bigger.

So here I am, deep in the drafting stage. What livestock do I want? What equipment? How big of a tank can I actually fit? And that's when I landed on (I think), my forever tank. Current plan is a Planet Aquariums 310G 96 1/2"x30 1/2"x25" sitting on a Mahogany colored stand. It would match my current desk setup perfectly.

The overall main purpose of this build thread however for now is going to have a single place to be able to continually spitball ideas and have a easily findable place for all of my wants and desires. As well as to have the community backing for a "Hey, thats a bad idea" or "Try this instead"

After playing with corals and then losing an extremely large percent of them due to massive EEFW infestation, I'll admit... I'm a little burned out on them. That's not to say I won't eventually return to them, but ultimately my heart (and wallet) hurts from losing thousands of dollars in Euphyillia. Other than a lone Dragon Soul torch and some hammers that seems to be weathering the storm, I've lost most of my collection I've always been much more of a fish guy anyways. So what does 2.5x my current tank volume mean in that regards? More fish!

Alrighty, now that I think* a hefty chunk of my fish likes are out of the way, onto the equipment! I'm going to work my way from the top of the tank to the bottom.
In the sea!
Tank: 310G 96 1/2"x30 1/2"x25"
Lighting: I'll probably go with 5-6 Noopsyches K7 Pro 3/4. These would realistically make the most sense as I already run 3 on my current tank.
Flow: 2 DMP-40s, and 4 DMP-60s. This might be too much flow, but with a big fish heavy future, I personally feels like it makes sense.. fishy treadmill.
Auto feeding: 2x AF4 Auto Feeders, 1 Pellet Feeder for TDO (undecided on which). I currently already own one AF4 that triggers 4x a day, and I believe it's a huge reason why I can currently run a heavily stocked tank with no aggression. Fat fish are happy fish. Running two would also allow me to extend the reservoirs out further and give me roughly a week before I have to change both.
Rock: Marco Dry Rock, and seeding the tank with rock from my current system and from TBS.
Sand: Caribsea Special Grade. I have Fiji Pink currently, and I will more than likely go half and half with sand from existing system, and with the special grade.

Under the Sea!
Plumbing: Red and Black Schedule 80. Probably Bean animal overflow
Sump: Currently eyeballing doing a custom 60" Acrylic Habitats sump, ideally in a red and black theme.
Manifolds: 4 (Carbon/GFO/Dual UV)
Primarily filtration: ReefMat 1200
Skimmer: ReefOcto Regal 250INT
UV: 2x57w Aqua UV (Already got one)
Refugium: Yes and no. More than likely I will do a DIY build and run 2 Chaeto Reactors. And then have a sizable area for TBS sand/rock to grow pods and other cool critters in.
Ozone: Really looking forward to this. Gonna give Ozone my first shot. Looking at a Poseidon 200.
ATO: Tunze Osmolator
Reservoir: Reefcan 10.5G
Return Pump: Reef Octo Varios 8
Pump for UVs: Probably a Reef Octo Varios 4 or 6. Looking for a longer dwell time.

Potential Additions
Kalk Reactor
Bashsea BioReactor
Calcium Reactor

Controlling the Sea!
I've spent the entire time I've been invested in the hobby, waiting for the Maven... I don't think it's ever coming. So, looks like I will be rolling with Neptune.
Brain: Neptune Apex A3 Pro
Power: 3x Neptune Energy Bars
Testing: Trident/Trident NP, backup will be Sailfert Testers
Dosing: ReefDose 4
Viewing: IPad/Some other tablet permanently mounted
Most likely going to place everything in a cabinet to the side of the tank with a glass door. Gotta, make sure it looks all nice and pretty.

And yeah! I'll be coming back here and there to continue to update as I continue to plan out this build. Or as I slowly buy some of the equipment for it.

Following along!
