I'm looking to get some more flow in my tank. I currently have 2 xf250s on either side of the tank and I have 2 mp40s on the back wall. They are all set to 100%. The gyres are set to 100% random antisink. And the mp40s are set to reef crest at 100%. My anemones and corals on the lower part of the tank look like they need more flow. My nems barely move at all. I like alot of movement and powerful water flow.

Should I replace my xf250s for a pair of xf 280s or should I add a second set of xf250.

The tank is 175g and it's 36x36x31 high.

Why not lower your MP40’s down closer to the bottom?

I'm worried that will knock the lower corals around. Here's some pics. Right side, front, left side.

I'm thinking the 250s aren't long enough for 36inches. But two would be.

How about a set of MP10’s down low that you could set just for low level flow?
Your tank looks awesome, I’m just worried if you changed your flow up top to help your corals down low it may change your happiness up top.

Can you put another gyre on the overflow in the back middle? Otherwise I like the dual MP10 idea.

I don't think you need more powerheads. Maybe stagger the mp40's with one higher than the other and offset the gyre so their flow patterns only intersect halfway.

I think you have enough pumps but I’d just try playing around with the positioning, why not try the two gyres on one side, and see how it goes, you could also move the MP40 closest to the 2 gyres to the other side.
