all my fish died out due to my irresponsibility to keeping an eye on water parameters however i have upgraded equipment found a protein skimmer and uv sterilizer and once my parameters become more stable id like to restock my saltwater tank i would like a black clownfish but besides that not sure on tankmates i was hoping to add 2-3 more fish not sure what i can add though i would like a blue fish and my girlfriend would love a purple fish

purple fire fish, royal gramma, or a orchid dottyback (these guys can be mean) for the purple fish, and for the blue you could do a blue chromis. I would do two clowns like the black clownfish but then the second you could have something with more of a pattern and different coloration like a black onyx clownfish

Royal Gramma would be the best solution. Purple Firefish are nice looking but are right near the top of the most bullied fish out there and established clownfish can be aggressive. Orchid Dottybacks can be okay (particularly captive bred) but they are still Dottybacks. A Royal Gramma usually isn't overtly aggressive but they are more likely to make an effort to defend themselves if another fish gets pushy. For Blue Fish, Damsels are the only ones that will work and they are generally pretty aggressive. Maybe a Springer's Damsel might work though

ime if the black clown is young when the purple firefish is added it doesn't really attack, but yes firefish in general get bullied by anything remotely aggressive. I'd just skip out on the damsel and get a chromis (i know a chromis is a damsel but whatever) but they do get a little large but with only a clown or two and a firefish it should be fine

my first time with a green chromis it got unexplainably sick and died after 5 days when my clownfish and other breeds of fish lived for a few years
