That sounds like a cool design. And 40 breeders are nice dimensions for being able to top-view clams still. I want to say maximas get to like 12" so technically that's overkill, and it will take a loooooong time to get there. I got mine at like 1.5/2" and now they're probably 4"? Definitely nutrient limited, hopefully not too light limited, but for context. I don't know that size is an issue for clams as they aren't as sensitive to flow, brushing things as corals. My main recommendation is to have lots and lots of light, preferably white / full spectrum. And don't get a wild maxima.I will keep an eye out for a small piece of Green Slimer. My plan is to upgrade to a 40g breeder tank at the end of the year, so maybe I will try to get a small blue maximas clam in the near future. Maybe set it up as one of the focal points of my new tank.
If you don't mind me asking, what's causing the move overseas? Sorta wondering if you're in the military?
