Dont vacuum in freshwater or saltwater. What ur doing is removing bacteria and essential microfauna and good organics from your sand bed if you wanna have a clean sand bed just put a powerhead in your tank

I have gravel in freshwater. I remove the dirt as I have high waste fish, the bacteria is staying in my filter media and stuck onto the gravel.
