200L frameless build

I am building 1000 x 500 x 400 mm aquarium using 8mm glass . The height of the tank is 500mm
Can someone please advise if I would need a brace on top or I can go rimless?

The dimensions are in mm. I have another tank of the same dimensions using 6mm glass with plastic bracing
I was hoping to use 8mm with no bracing :(
