20g Stocking

I have a 20g Cube with the following fish:

-Neon Goby (Always active)
-Tailspot Blenny (Somewhat active)
-Exquisite Firefish ( Doesn’t leave his safe spot)
-Pink Streaked Wrasse (Somewhat active but only in bottom 1/3 of tank)

My question is if it would be ridiculous to think if I could add one or a pair of Ocellaris Clowns to my tank. Everyone gets along right now and it seems like there’s plenty of open water space for the clown(s) to hang out in but I’d like to ask the experts! Thanks!

6 fish in a 20 gallon seems like it'd be pretty full.. and clowns can get territorial but you'd be adding them last. shrug, the safe play might be to add only 1 clown, but only 1 is less fun :cool:

I'd think you'd be fine, just means you are pushing the limits, so water changes and cleaning excess food is just that much more important.

Could also consider a goby/pistol shrimp combo.
Rainford's goby is also a great choice and has different behavior than most other gobies.
Ditto for yellow or green clown gobies.
Could also consider a possum wrasse.

In my 20g I never go past four fish. But that's just me. If you decided to go for it just always keep up on water changes and other maintenance

I’m running bare bottom so that rules out a couple of those guys,
I have thought about a possum Wrasse too. Clown gobies crossed my mind but then I read all these stories about how they can be hard to get eating.
I just really like clownfish, I’m leaning towards probably not feasible though.

I’m still on the fence about only having one clown, I have a pair in my 40B, and it just seems like they belong in pairs the way they are always together

i want to set up a nano tank as my 2nd tank (and so i can have acans/clam/zoas thanks flame angel!) and personally i'm hoping to avoid clowns since i already have a pair in my DT. basslets are high on my wishlist if you're looking for another fish

You could maybe put a royal gramma in a 20, but I'd recommend against a blackcap basslet (if you were considering it.)
They can get much larger than the royal gramma, too big for a 20.
