Hey All,

I have a 220 aquarium that I am wanting to set my Gyres up in. I have two IceCaps and I love them however I have not found a setting and placement that I like. I am looking for suggestions from anyone that are running Gyres in a larger aquarium.

Currently I have them on opposite sides just far enough below the water level to not create a tornado.
Running them form 0%-100% over 10 seconds.

I also have two MP40s about half way down on the same sides as the Gyre. They are set random.

Thoughts or ideas?

Thanks,
Cole

I have a 93 cube and have mine mounted vertically. It seems to work pretty well in my case and pushes water side to side instead of top to bottom.

Cole,

My tank is 1,5 m(wide) x 1,8 m(depth) and I have one Icecap Gyre 150 and one Maxspect Gyre 150.
I have mine 2 mounted vertically too.
1 in each side of back panel.
In one pump I have the upper difusor parallel to lateral glass while the other difusor is aligned with the tank diagonal.
In the other pump the positions of the difusors are inverted.
I run the two pumps in constant speed mode (70~80%)
I have a MP40 (reef crest mode) too, but I'm about to add 2 Koralias gen3 in the front panel.

Alex

Alex thanks for your reply... I will have to give that a chance. honestly I didnt really think about running them vertical.
I will agree they are louder then I expected however my whole aquarium setup is loud and working on quieting it down.
However, I honestly dont think you can beat the flow!
