Oh before I forget I used a modular marine overflow I drilled the tank using 2” bulkheads. I Acryic glued it on so I wouldn’t have to use gaskets and worry about a leak. Sorry no pictures of that.

I had three 1-1/5 holes inside the overflow. One is in a full siphon other has gate valve on it and last one is emergency drain I put a pipe only inside the box on energy drain it’s 6-1/2 tall. Already tested it takes all I can give water wise with both pumps. We’ll get there

Next went to deciding on what sump I wanted. I search all over the internet and nothing caught my eye especially not having the featured I was looking for. Then it hit me I was like why not just build it myself after getting quotes of $1200-$1600 not on my watch. Lol. But just for the heck of it I contacted acrylic habitats and got a quote of a shell just to see! I went with him building just the shell for me then I routed all the panels out myself and put a top on and routed it out and made lids. The quote part that’s why I didn’t think I’d need doors. Lol. This is the quick sketch that I can up that I wanted roughly 90 gallons. 30” wide 46” long and 16 tall

I bought the BUBBLE MAGUS CURVE B10 PROTEIN SKIMMER WITH DC PUMP so needed a big chamber. and it’s very quite to my surprise. Adding to the no door police on stand so I can see my blood sweat and tears.

Next came the rocks I found a guy getting outta the hobby and he had the rocks I’ve been eating for 150 lbs of Pukani with only 6 pieces!! Jackpot. I bleached them then neurotic acid bath the rocks in two rock batches at a time. Here’s a quick video. Then used backing soda to neutralize the acid when the timers was up. Then washed off with presser washer hose and set in rodi water for two day before letting dry out for weeks.

## Very dangerous and the fumes too. ##

Then I decided to use a piece of 1/4 thick black ABS plastic for bottom. Cut It to size and routed out back 1/8 deep for 3” acrylic disk then a 3/4 hole through the ABS plastic and silicone the disk in. The I added 3/4 acrylic rods through the holes and glued them to the disk to hold the rocks in place.
