The heater issue was a product of me being over-tired. I went to bed half-way through tank maintenance, leaving the temperature probes hanging in the cold air all night. It sent 'Heat' signals to the two tank and cooked the fish by morning.

Right now all fish are being replaced with Butterfly fish.

Ah. I had that happen to me recently. Luckily my Hydros was going crazy so I ended up figuring out what the issue was quickly. Sorry to hear that.
Sounds like it should be a fun reboot though. Butterflyfish are awesome!
