I got one of those Pop up adds, while on the internet. Chinese Company touting their water purification products, including one for aquariums. Did a break through occur on the LED UV, or is this one of the less effective UV Bands? Would be great if we could get less lamp heat, while using LED.

253.7 is one of the best wavelengths if you want to kill microorganism but its not only the wavelength that its important - its also the intensity and retention time. As I know it - there is no professional UV-C water sterilizers based on LED´s yet - but I can be wrong or not informed of new achievements in the field.

I still see aquarium UV-C sterilizers based on LED´s as toys - please correct me if I´m wrong.

Sincerely Lasse
