Hi everyone!
After a lot of negotiation with my wife, I finally got the green light, and two weeks ago I received the upgrade for my 80-gallon tank: a new 255-gallon one.
It was originally going to be a peninsula tank, but with our two small daughters, we decided it would be safer to place it in a corner of our new home, away from the play area.
As the sump is in the basement, the couch will be placed right next to the tank, perfect for enjoying it up close.
For the hardscape, I took inspiration from this freshwater tank that I really love:
So, I started adding rocks and this is the result:
My plan is to recreate the freshwater tank layout, placing Acroporas at the top of the rocks, with torches, hammers, and gonioporas occupying the middle and lower sections. I also plan to add some GSP and mushrooms on a few rocks, separated from the main structure.
About fish and inverts, this is my stocking plan:
Fish
--------------
Emperor Angelfish x 1
Firefish x 2
McCoskery Flasher Wrasse x 1
Yellow Coris Wrasse x 1
Redhead Fairy Wrasse x 1
Yellow Watchman Goby x 2
Clownfish x 2
Springeri Damsel x 2
Copperband Butterflyfish x 2
Mandarin Dragonet x 2
Banggai Cardinalfish x 2
Lyretail Anthias x 4
Royal Gramma x 7
Inverts
------------------
Snails x 30
Skunk Cleaner x 2
Randall Pistol Shrimp x 1
Emerald Crab x 4
Tuxedo Urchin x 4
Longspine Urchin x 2
Holothuria Edulis x 1
That’s it for now. I’ll keep sharing updates as things develop!
