I got tired of the glare from the xr15s so I made some shades for them. They are attached magnetically so they’re easy to remove.

I would not trust the check valves on the return lines. They will fail if dirty, so would be good idea to add some siphon break holes on the return at the highest point. Some people put it on the loc lines, other drill the elbow and run tubing into overflow or sump. Depends on size of your sump. Just simulate if your check valve didn’t work, can your sump hold all the siphon flow?

Gorgeous tank BTW.

I don't trust them 100% either. I have the loc lines for the returns pretty high up in the tank so only a few gallons will go back into the sump.

Im looking at that tank size right now from various vendors. The CDA seems to be the best value i have seen thus far with the options im a looking at. Is the tank build as robust as i have read about? How are the caulk lines? Im not planning on getting a stand from them. Given my experience and quality of work in cabinetry. Price of thier stands is not justified. Although the added warranty is a nice bonus.

looks great, but the blue makes it hard to see the details.

My tank is flawless. No complaints. My stand is nice too, i didn't want to mess with building one. Mine got messed up a bit in shipping. They offered to take it back, but i just kept it. But if you're capable I'd get the steel one they offer, and wrap it on your own. I'm assuming you'd get the warranty with just the steel part

Added 2 more Radions and lowered the fixture to about 14” above water level. This increased my overall par by about 100-150.

It’s been about 8 months now since the tank has been running. Everything is happy and growing. Here’s a semi full tank shot:

Any updates
Aww man I keep forgetting g to update this thread!
I had some renovations done at the end of 2024 and tried to protect the tank from dust with some plastic drop cloths. Unfortunately some must have gotten into the water column because all the sps went dormant and I lost some fish.Things finally started improving at the end of 2025. I’ll have to add more fish soon because I can’t maintain nitrates and phosphates above zero without dosing them.
