Hello everyone, im going to look at some ibc totes today. Are there any sure fire methods of cleaning them out? Citric acid? Muratic acid maybe?

Hey neighbor.

I would be very concerned about what was previously stored in the totes.

Many chemicals transported in these totes will leach into the plastic and then when you fill it with your clean water, will leach back out into the water.

I dont know if a full soak with acid would be enough because this leaching process can be very slow.

I will know very soon what was stored inside of them they have been steam cleaned I do know that it is just an idea though

I would only use yours of you can confirm they contained a safe material. To these totes are often triple rinsed and reused with different chemicals each time.

I have some food grade glycerin totes that I use after triple rinsing. I feel comfortable with these particular ones because they are new when filled.

Be careful you know what you get your hands on
