My bulkhead is the wrong size and I might not enlarge it... I was wondering if a 3/4 drain is enough ? I also need to mention that if I go this route, the 3/4 drain expands to 1" right after the bulkhead since he rest of the plumbing is 1"..

What kind/style of drain and how large of a return pump? If you’re planning on running something nutty like 2000gph through the sump than no.

I just rigged a 34 gallon with 3/4 and ill be testing it tomarrow. I have a dc pump so my thought was just turn the pump down as much as needed.

He printed a new one. It needs reamed too.
The bigger issues is if the 3d printed overflow is on the wet or dry side? Anything 3d printed on the 'dry' side for a overflow is asking for problems...

Also he never said anything about reprinting anything...

So many questions, lol.

Patience young grasshopper. In the next few days you shall have your answers and this time it might be an emergency.

I would like to get more information on this 3d print. It sounds like the wrong approach for this particular application.

Not to throw up the red flag, but you should be warned and understand the issues that may arise.
This. I await the soon to be emergency involving a leak on the 'dry side' once the '3d printed' overflow sees water.

Total speculation I know, but inquiring minds wanna know!

Some flow chart rate 3/4 inch to 660gph wich is a 22x turn over rate if I max it out, so I guess I'm okay ?
I think 660 gph would be pushing it for a drain, but a 3/4" Herbie should easily do 150-200 gph which is plenty for a 30 gal.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
