Playing around with a new par meter
40 breeder with 3 ai blades grow, glow, grow with elevated tank mounts they are centered perfectly nothing between lights and water.

My confusion is that the left and right readings are so different. All 3 lights are set at 80% and 100% for each of the 2 tests

front right under the surface
left corner 212 middle 342/550 right 140

middle level left 116//215 middle 350/220
right 90/140

sand left 93/160 middle 170/300 right 121/180

I'm sorry as I have no real idea as to what I am talking about, but I think the first thing I would do is turn off lights two and three. Leave just the left on. Measure par. Turn it off, replace it with the other Grow light in the exact same place as the left one was and with the exact same settings. See what par measurements you get. To me, that takes all the variables out of the equation and you should get very similar if not exactly the same par readings.

One other thing, when you go from light one to three, plug light three into the same receptacle or spot on a power bar as light one was. That eliminates any voltage drops across receptacles and or power strips. Again, sorry if these turn out to be stupid ideas.

So, what did you find out. I am giving some thought to replacing my stock Fluval Evo light with a Coral Grow Blade. How well do you like them?
