My little over a year old 40 breeder currently has 1 ai blade grow on it. Right now it only has softies in it. The softies seem happiest when it’s running at 100%
Today i’m adding another grow and a glow what settings do you think i should start with? I would like to slowly start moving some sps and other corals in it soon. No I don’t have a par meter

Do you have them mounted high up? I use the elevated tank mounts on mine and I have 2 grows over a 40b. I run mine at 50% and I am getting a little over 300 par at the top of the tank and 120 - 180 on the sand bed. 100% seems kind of crazy. You may want to be careful running that intensity unless they are mounted high above the tank.

I would maybe be careful I have an Apogee MQ-510 so I would say its pretty reliable and I guess you're getting a ton of light into the tank.

I will turn my up to 75% and take some readings and see what I am getting maybe that can help you out a little with making a decision but if you aren't running sps I think anything over 50% is unnecessary and potentially harmful.

If you're running one Grow at 100%, then run 2 Grows at 50%. Adding in the Glow at 25-30% would be a good start. Then go from there.
